The circle is a universal symbol with many meanings. In different cultures the circle may represent totality, wholeness, infinity, the circle of life, cyclic movement, the sun, the universe or the notion of wholeness and self realization.

Project 1: Students were introduce to the symbolic meaning of the circle. Students practice making gradient circles using monochromatic color and tint. Circles then were turned into animals hidden in the maze of circles.
Project 2: Animal Silhouettes With Circles
Project 3: Circular Foam Plate Printing. Circular designs were carved into foam and printed. Watercolor patterns and fun backgrounds were added.
Project 4: Students used their foam plate print design to color with colored pencils. Students were to pay attention to the quality or skill during their coloring.
Project 5: Collage challenges students to create and fill the space of their circle. Students were mindful of color contrast.
Project 6: Using straight lines and circles created a watercolor and pastel non-representational masterpiece.
