Theme: Major Art Movement and a Personal Respone.
Project 1: High Renaissance: Using the Triangle in art composition. One of the most obvious triangles in composition is Mona Lisa, or Gioconda by Leonardo daVinci. This one is there, in all her posture. The front head as the top of the triangle closed by the elbows creating the base line with the lighted hands. Students were challenged to use the triangle to help focus their composition.
Project 2: Renaissance: Realism. Student used charcoal to draw a still life using Beanie Babies. Student focused on value and line to create realism. This was a one day study
Project 3: Landscape Observation. Students used photographs of landscape. Building on their use of charcoal to show their understand of value, line to create movement and patterns, student conveyed their powers of observation to showcase their skill.
