Mr. Wade's homeroom
Theme: Colonial American
American art during the colonial period was afforded by the wealthy. Portraiture and still life captured the finery amassed by those of means and political power. Craftsmen provided services and products used in colonial America. Utilitarian objects produced sometimes would be adored by metalwork, jewels and painting. Pottery, fashion, quilting, woodworking and tooling not only were necessary but also because objects of art.
FIRST PROJECT: Students gained an understanding of the importance of farming in early American economics. Students used watercolor and black line to create movement, shape, texture and emotion to stack their farm animals. Students are building an awareness for color and how to use it for contrast making a visual impact. Note the humor in these pieces!!
