Art Theme: American Artists
First Project: This project showcased Science Safety. While collaborating with Mrs. Wotton students were challenged to design cartoon characters to relate their knowledge of safety during science experimentation.
Second Project: Students were introduced to American artist Wayne Thiebaud. His work communicates the art of producing food. Thiebaud's iconic desserts introduced America to the creativity involve in food production. Students looked at photographs of food and developed a work of art using line, color and oil pastel to create delightful and delicious desserts!
Project: Rube Goldberg, an artist who poked fun at the fast pace of automation. Mr. Goldberg's art depicted humorous characters, animals and simple machines to complete a task. Students had fun creating their simple machine to complete their tasks!
